Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Custom Canvas" mean?
We do not work off of premade patterns or layouts. All our products are custom fit to your unique vessel. This is a multistep process: we come to your boat to measure and pattern, return to our shop where we create the product from the pattern and then return to your vessel for final fit and installation. Even between vessels of the same make there is enough variance that premade patterns are not one size fits all. That is the difference in the quality and fit of custom canvas.

Seattle, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Des Moines, Tukwila, Bellevue, Tacoma, Burien, Rainier Beach, Kent, SeaTac, Ballard, Fremont, Alki and West Seattle, South Park, Renton, Harbor Island, Lake Union, South Seattle and more. We are always happy to make arrangements to bring your vessel to our guest moorage at South Park Marina if you are currently located outside our normal service area.

Yes, on a case by case basis. The determining factors are generally the age and condition of the canvas. If the material is too old and brittle to take new seams or clear vinyl we will be happy to work up a free estimate for the cost of a new replacement. We also require that any canvas brought to our shop for repairs be in clean condition as to not contaminate our shop and future projects.
We use high quality materials that are the leading standards in the industry including Sunbrella material and binding, Strataglass Clear Vinyls and UV resistant thread with premium stainless steel hardware. Combined all these offer high performance for marine applications meant to last for years to come.
We offer a 5% discount to any vessel that comes to our yard on a trailer or makes use of the guest moorage available here at South Park Marina where our shop is located.
We do not offer canvas cleaning services. We recommend reaching out to quality yacht detailing outfits that are familiar with the cleaning needs of Sunbrella and Clear Vinyl materials.
We partner with our sister business, Burien Upholstery, for all marine upholstery applications and would be happy to get an estimate put together for your project.
Yes, we have worked on a wide variety of projects from food truck awnings, privacy screening for decks, enclosures for outdoor seating at restaurants and even mobility slings for folks who need assistance transferring out of bed to a wheelchair. We are always happy to talk about custom projects and how to build them.
No. We build the frames and bows for boat tops and dodgers. We recommend Mark at Northwest Railmakers for any custom railings.
